CEU Requirements for L1 and L2 Trainers
Background:
-
Trainers are required to renew their Teacher Trainer license each year.
-
Current renewal requirements are:
-
To have taught 50 hours of KY classes outside of TT.
-
To have attended one 3HO event.
-
To be a Professional member of IKYTA international or their national (IKYTA recognized) teachers' association.
-
To reconfirm their commitment to Code of Ethics.
-
In addition, Level Two Trainers, are required to attend an annual "training the trainer" session.
-
Because of the importance of continually improving the quality of our trainers teaching capabilities, of KRI to get direct feedback from the field and of fostering a strong sense of community among our trainers, therefore it is proposed that:
Policy:
-
KRI shall sponsor a one or two day trainer "enhancement" session annually on fixed days in conjunction with Summer Solstice and the European Yoga Festival. These sessions shall include specific training for trainers, information updates in regards to programs, standards and policies as well as providing a forum for dialogue and feedback on relevant issues.
-
Beginning in 2008, all North American and European Level One and Level Two Professional and Lead Trainers shall be required to attend a minimum of two of these sessions every three years as part of their Trainer re-licensing process.
-
The Director of Training, in concurrence with Aquarian Teacher Executive Director, may provide alternatives for individuals who cannot attend these sessions.
-
KRI will work with trainers in other parts of the world to develop opportunities for continued trainer development and inclusion in those areas.
